We’re excited to announce that the second plenary meeting of NexaSphere will take place in the beautiful city of Naples, Italy, hosted by the University of Naples Federico II. This two-day event, on 27–28 November, will bring together all partners to review the progress of active work packages and tasks, and to discuss the next steps toward achieving NexaSphere’s ambitious goals. We look forward to meeting everyone in person in Naples!

The IEEE Future Networks World Forum (FNWF’25) serves as a premier international forum for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to collectively advance the state of the art in future communication networks. Aligned with this year’s theme—“Beyond Connectivity: 6G for a Sustainable and Intelligent Future”—the forum adopts a multidisciplinary stance, bringing together voices from academia, industry, and standards organizations to address the technological, regulatory, and societal dimensions of the post-5G era. Building on the progress from interoperability toward full unification of terrestrial and satellite communication ecosystems, the 5th NTN Workshop brings together mobile and satellite network operators, integrators, technology providers, and academia in a collaborative setting to present and openly discuss the evolution of the NTN domain. With 3GPP 6G standardization now underway, this moment marks a decisive turning point, as, for the first time, non-terrestrial communication is fully embedded in the standardization process from its very first day. The workshop is structured around key presentations, expert panels, and live demonstrations, highlighting the roles of newly available laboratory infrastructure, space assets, and cost-effective testbeds as foundations for experimentation and validation. As a recognized industry forum, the NTN Workshop focuses on unification by bridging terrestrial and non-terrestrial sectors and harnessing the momentum created by 6G and O-RAN standardization to shape new ecosystems and accelerate cross-industry convergence. Organizers: Maria Guta (ESA), Adam Kapovits (Eurescom), Marius Corici (Fraunhofer FOKUS) For more details: https://www.fokus.fraunhofer.de/en/ngni/events/5th-ntn-workshop-2025.html

We’re pleased to share that NexaSphere will be featured at the upcoming NTN, Security & Resilience event, dedicated to the role of Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) in securing Europe’s digital sovereignty. Hosted by our partner DLR, the event will spotlight Europe’s efforts in shaping future satellite-based connectivity through the IRIS² programme (Infrastructure for Resilience, Interconnectivity and Security by Satellite). Key themes on the agenda include: The vision and roadmap for IRIS² as Europe’s step toward sovereign connectivity NTN as the foundation of resilient, secure, and interception-proof communications The convergence of 5G/6G with satellite in hybrid network architectures Cybersecurity and resilience challenges , and how to overcome them Market outlook, industrial perspectives, and cross-European cooperation Alongside the discussions, an exhibition of European Commission–funded projects will showcase leading research and innovation in NTN. Projects on display include NexaSphere, 5G-STARDUST, 6G-NTN, and UNITY-6G.

Just six months after the official kick-off of the NexaSphere Project, we’re excited to announce the first plenary meeting, hosted by OTE in Athens, Greece. Day One: The event will begin with a welcome greeting, followed by presentations and discussions on WP1 and WP2. The day will conclude with a social dinner, providing a great opportunity for all partners to connect and network. Day Two: The focus will shift to the remaining Work Packages and the three Proofs of Concept (PoCs) in the fields of aviation, automotive, and rail. The meeting will conclude with the General Assembly.

The 2025 EuCNC & 6G Summit builds on putting together two successful conferences in the area of telecommunications: EuCNC (European Conference on Networks and Communications), supported by the European Commission, and the 6G Summit, originated from the 6G Flagship programme in Finland, one of the very first in its area.

Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) is the world’s leading marketplace for airlines and the supply chain to meet. We bring the whole industry together so you can explore and source the latest products, find practical solutions, collaborate and build relationships with the right people, find the best products to enhance your cabin interiors, and discover those hidden gems to create the ultimate cabin and passenger experience.

The 12th Advanced Satellite Multimedia Systems Conference and the 18th Signal Processing for Space Communications Workshop took place in Sitges, near Barcelona (Spain), from 26 to 28 February 2025.

The European Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) is a Public-Private Partnership that aims to facilitate and develop industrial leadership in Europe in 5G and 6G networks and services.
