NTN, Security & Resilience event was held in Weßling, Germany (on the premises of the German Aerospace Center). Organized by DLR in cooperation with Bayern Innovativ / Thinknet 6G, it was a specialist meeting focused on the strategic role of non-terrestrial networks in Europe’s digital sovereignty.

Key subjects included the design and implementation of IRIS², Europe’s evolving multi-orbit satellite infrastructure for secure, sovereign communication.

Projects such as 6G-NTN, 5G-STARDUST, NexaSphere, and UNITY-6G were present, with demonstrations and presentations to illustrate how NTN and terrestrial systems can interoperate and reinforce resilience.

Topics discussed ranged from technical challenges (e.g. latency, inter-satellite links, ground segment integration) to strategic considerations such as dependency on external providers, secure communications in contested environments, and provisioning for critical infrastructure failure.
